A Great Blog to Check Out
I accidentally stumbled upon this great blog today:
http://one1more2time3.wordpress.com/
It's a blog by Hans Bacher, an artist who's been working in the animation industry at many notable studios and has worked on many classic animated films(if you're curious....). The blog has some of his own artwork and as well he has posted a bunch of concept art, layout design, photos ect. of a ton of old movies, especially Disney movies. Definitely worth your time to check out or at least bookmark to look at later.
Hope you all are having a great summer! Can't wait to see what you guys upload this week!

Weekly Assignment #1
FIRST POST!
>>Drawing 10 figures from life. If you have to you can use pictures.
>>CREATE a FLIP BOOK ! Basically the same way that we did in basic animation. Use note cards and one of those Binder clips to just hold it in place. Either get a video of you flipping it or take pictures/scan in the images individually.
>>Draw 10 figures.... again!
>> Make character designs for three heroes and three villains each with their own story.
>>Watch a good animated film and a poorly animated film. What made the good one good and the bad one bad. List at least five specific points.
>>Do 5 detailed landscapes from life.
>> Do 3 different color tests for one character with at least one layer of shadows.
>> Take an object and a lamp. Turn off all other lights in the room. Use the lamp to light object from at least three different angles. Draw the object. Be detailed when it comes to the shadows and lighter areas.
>>And another 10 figures!
>>Draw a character of your choice in at least three drastically different styles.
>>Pick an artist with a unique style and replicate four of their drawings or characters.
>>Yep, you guessed it! Another 10 people!
>>Find five different artsits that inspire you and post their links.
Thats all! Not to super difficult!
Now if you REALLY wanna do some hardcore improving you can join me and Lauren in our goal! We decided we are going to try to do one sketchbook drawing EVERY DAY! With 80% of the drawings being from life. This could be anywhere from a 5 minute to a three hour drawing.... but something EVERY DAY.
So. Yea. Basically. That. Is. It.
Hope your summers are going super fantastic and hope to see your stuff uploaded soon!
